WHAT'S A 40 DOLLAR FINE?

40 Dollar Fine is raucous roots rock, alt country and a pinch of blues at its finest. Eclectic, unpredictable, and above all...big time fun.

What can you expect to see at our shows? You'll see five guys having a ball, with each other and with the audience. You'll hear songs that haven't been run into the ground - some you'll know and some you won't - a fine tuned mix of new surprises and forgotten classics.

40 Dollar Fine was formed in 2005, and by the end of 2007 found the current lineup that runs like a well-tuned V-8 engine. We come from diverse backgrounds, with lengthy resumés in the local DC music scene, a fanatical dedication to serious groove, strong 3 and 4 part vocals and a commitment to communicating with you, the loving public. And every song is different! Influences include Delbert McClinton, NRBQ, Rockpile, The Blasters, Creedence Clearwater, Southern Culture on the Skids, the Austin/Nashville alt country scene and so many more.
